Not Your Mom’s Miata

September 13th, 2020 by

We may be showing our age a little, but at Siemens Mazda on Red Arrow Highway, most of us remember when the Miata made its debut in 1990.

It came in only three colors, had a sporty look with its convertible top, and was only available in a five-speed transmission. Still, every mom in town wanted one.

This year, we were excited that the Miata got a refresher, which added more features and accessories but kept the lightweight, fun-to-drive feel with which everyone fell in love.

The MX-5 Miata is an eye-catcher that performs like a dream. With improved performance, sporty features, advanced technology, important safety features, and fun available accessories, you won’t be able to deny this sportscar is how driving is supposed to feel!

Performance

The new MX-5 Miata is 135 pounds lighter than the previous generation. Even though we still deliver with a lighter vehicle, we ensure speed with a kick – now with a 181-horsepower engine that redlines at 7500 rpm, this zippy sports car leaves all others in the dust.

Its nearly-perfect 50/50 weight distribution enables clean, clear, smooth handling. The MX-5 Miata’s 6-speed transmission is small and light, but shifts with ease. Or you can choose the automatic transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

Features

The iconic soft top only requires one hand to pop it back, and that can be done without getting out of the driver’s seat. With the assist spring mechanism, you can close the top just as easily. Tops come in a choice of black or grey and look stylish whether you’re driving with it up or down.

Technology

Stay completely connected with available Apple CarPlay. Access all your music, maps, contacts, and compatible apps with voice connect through Siri. Keep your eyes on the road and never miss a thing.

The available 9-speaker premium Bose sound system promises a rich surround sound experience to play all your favorite tunes – even with the top down.

Safety

Your safety is our number one concern. With our integrated safety systems, you’ll feel confident out on the open road. Ask one of our salespeople about the availability of:

  • Blind Spot Monitoring

No more looking back-and-forth to ensure there is no vehicle behind you. Take one look and then rely on the sensors in your Miata to alert you if a vehicle has traveled into your blind spot.

  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert

Backing out of a busy parking lot can be intimidating. It’s not always easy to see around the cars parked on either side. Rear Cross Traffic-Alert delivers an audible warning if you’re pulling out and traffic is headed your way, essentially stopping you from entering harm’s way.

  • Lane Departure Warning System

If you inadvertently travel out of your lane of traffic, the Lane Departure Warning System alerts giving you audible and visual warnings, allowing you to gently correct before dropping a tire off the road’s edge.

  • Adaptive Front-Lighting System

As you turn a corner, your lights illuminate the way by pivoting in the direction you’re turning, improving your visibility and allowing you extra time to spot any trouble ahead.

  • Available High Beam Control

When oncoming traffic approaches, the system automatically dims your high beams. When sensors detect the absence of oncoming traffic, they automatically switch back to high beams.

  • Traffic Sign Recognition

To help you prepare for what’s ahead, this system displays upcoming Stop, Speed Limit, and Do Not Enter information on the MX-5 Miata’s 4.6 inch full-color LCD display.

Accessories

You can fully customize your MX-5 Miata with all these available accessories. Pair our Front Air Dam and Rear Diffuser with Side Sill Extensions for a continuation of the sleek, sporty look for which the Miata is known. Don’t forget Splash Guards or the available Spoiler Rear Lip that just adds a little more punch.

Inside, we offer a lighting kit that gently illuminates your interior with a soft glow. You can also add a little edge to the interior with air vent bezels and all-weather floor mats.

Keep your cargo area clean and organized with a flexible, durable cargo tray that prevents damage from unexpected spills or dirt. Add to that a handy cargo net for small items that need stability while you’re driving, and you’ll stay organized and prevent cargo mishaps.

Our team at Siemans Mazda recognizes the fun and flair the refreshed MX-5 Miata brings. This is how driving a sports car should feel, and we want you to give it a try. Though it’s a far cry from the Miata of the 1990s, everybody in the neighborhood still wants one of these!
