The CX-9 is crafted with Nappa leather and detailed stitching. The interior includes accents of aluminum and Santos Rosewood. These details come together to create a relaxing atmosphere.

The second row has optional captain’s seats, which come standard with a center console. On select trim models, you can opt for a center walk-through instead to allow easier access to the third row.

Unmatched Performance and Safety

Skyactiv-G 2.5T Dynamic Pressure Turbo engine gets up to 250 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque. When you press down on the accelerator, the CX-9 responds instantly with smooth power.

With the i-Activ AWD, the CX-9 predicts when traction will be lost and provides torque accordingly to keep all tires in contact with the road. The off-road traction assist takes torque and traction control to a new level when driving over uneven ground.

As a family car, the CX-9 comes standard with i-Activsense, a suite of safety features which includes:

• 360-Degree View Monitor – four cameras provide full coverage around the vehicle, so you do not miss anything
• Rear Cross-Traffic Alert – as you start to back up, you will be alerted if a vehicle starts to enter your path
• Blind Spot Monitoring – when a vehicle is out of your sight but in the way, an audible and visual warning is triggered
• Advanced Smart City Brake Support with Pedestrian Detection – you will be warned and the brakes applied if a potential collision is ahead and you do not react in time
• Lane Departure Warning – when driving at 37 mph or faster, you will receive an audible and visual warning if you start to drift out of your lane
• Lane Keep Assist – this provides necessary corrections to keep you centered in the lane
• Radar Cruise Control with Stop and Go – set your desired distance from the vehicle ahead of you, and the CX-9 will maintain that distance, even bringing you to a stop if needed
• Traffic Sign Recognition – the front-facing camera registers traffic signs and displays the info in the Active Driving Display

The CX-9 has front airbags and air curtains for the second and third rows to fully protect your family.

Driving in the dark takes extra concentration. To help keep your focus on the road, the CX-9 handles the lights. The high beams automatically turn to low beams when a vehicle is detected ahead.

For extra coverage, you can select the adaptive front-lighting system. As you make turns, the headlights pivot in the direction you are going, allowing you to better see what is ahead.

Refined Entertainment

The 9-inch display console is controlled with a turn dial so that you can keep your focus on the road while navigating through the menu. Push the dial to make your selection. Connect your iPhone or Android to the infotainment system so that you can use your voice to make calls, select music, and more.

USB ports are strategically placed throughout the cabin, including the third row, so that everyone can keep their devices fully charged. The 12-speaker Bose premium audio system immerses everyone in studio-quality sound.

2021 CX-9

If you are looking for a new car now, the 2020 CX-9 will not disappoint. If you can hold off, though, the 2021 version has a few upgrades worth waiting for. The upgrades include:

• New Quilting and Piping

The 2020 model has four trim options to choose from:

• Sport
• Touring
• Grand Touring
• Signature

The 2021 model has these trim options plus a fifth, the Carbon Edition.
